Brother slays the heart of brother
Whilst oil-bombs burn the child, with hate
From Syria to Eritrea
A piteous stream of people flee
Yet hardened hearts say No! Not Here!
And coldly spurn the drowning hand.
The world grows cold whilst being warmed
And greed the Arctic ice does thaw
Our children, trees, all living things
Fall victim to this thoughtless life.
It doesn’t have to be like this
For love, and action, can save all
And loose the chains of selfish thrall.
But till that day, and just at night
To keep us sane and balanced now
Let’s seek that other world so bright
The land that’s lit with Angel light
And when we’re there, from earth’s lusts free
We’ll laugh, and sing, and merry be
For we’ll be dancing, dancing,
Dancing in our rainbow dreams.
