What Is Crystal Therapy?

Crystal therapy is a form of complementary or holistic therapy that uses various crystals & minerals to induce deep relaxation & promote energy balance to improve a persons health & well being.
Crystals are placed on the patient, usually at acupuncture points or energy centres also known as meridians or chakras. Sometimes crystals may be placed at a site of pain in the body or around the patient.

Crystal therapy is considered a holistic therapy, not an alternative medicine. This is because it is focused on the patient as a whole rather than on just one part of the patient’s physical body. This therapy is used to restore & balance the energy of the patient on levels of the mind, spirit & the physical body.



How Does Crystal Therapy Work?

Crystals have the ability to store & release energy vibrations. An example of this is a quartz watch. A quartz crystal is used in a watch because when an electrical impulse is directed into the crystal it absorbs the energy then releases it in the form of a vibration. The vibration is so precise it is used to keep perfect time.
Crystals are used to effect the electro-magnetic field that surrounds our body also known as the subtle bodies that make up our aura. The aura has been contemplated in the realm of healing for thousands of years, recently science has proven that this field must exist around any living organism. Crystals absorb this energy & then release it at particular rates of vibration or frequency, this helps to change the overall vibration of the aura which in turn will have an affect on the physical body.

Crystals are often placed at the chakra positions. The chakras are energy centres that are linked to the aura & permeate our physical body. At these positions the energy flow is stronger. Crystals can also be placed around a person as the aura extends out several inches from the body.



How To Use Crystals

Crystals are used to balance the energy flow through a patients Aura & Chakras. All crystals have their on unique vibration frequency, so different types of crystals will have a different effect on this energy flow. Some crystals will increase or speed up the flow of energy, while others will do the opposite & slow down or calm the energy flow. How the crystals are arranged will also have an effect, for example a crystal that is shaped like a point will direct energy in the direction that the point is facing, so it can be used to direct energy either towards or away from a particular area. The therapist must determine where the patients energy is too low and / or where it is too high, then select the correct crystals and layout to restore the balance within the patients energy system.
